1-2-1 Training

Whilst group classes can be a wonderful environment in which to learn, some dogs – as well as some people – may prefer to learn in an environment that is entirely dedicated and tailored to their own, specific requirements. If you have an adolescent or adult dog, and would prefer to learn in a 1-2-1 environment where the sessions can be individually customised to meet your own, particular needs, then these are the sessions for you.

1-2-1 sessions might be necessary for a variety of reasons. Issues being addressed can include, but are not limited to:

The basics (sit, down, stay, etc.)

Loose lead walking

Recall

Jumping up

Counter surfing

Door manners

Drop

Muzzle training

Settle

Grooming/handling/nail trimming

You will learn how to train and reward those behaviours that you want to see more of, as well as how to set up the environment in such a way so as to prevent rehearsal of those behaviours that you wish to avoid.

By discovering what motivates your own, individual dog, reinforcement can be customised to ensure that they are given effective rewards when they offer desirable behaviours. Such rewards will ensure that they offer wanted behaviours both more regularly and more reliably.

Initial sessions start at £60 and may take place in person or via Zoom. Further sessions start at £55. Sessions last for 60 minutes.

Payment is taken via bank transfer in advance of each session.

Should you need to cancel a session, 48 hours notice is required.

Note: 1-2-1 Training Sessions are not for those dogs with behavioural issues such as separation anxiety, noise sensitivities, or reactivity, for example. Such issues will require a Behavioural Consultation and associated treatment.

Dynamic Dog Assessments

Dynamic Dog Assessments

A Dynamic Dog Assessment is an invaluable way of highlighting areas of potential discomfort in your dog, discomfort which may be affecting their behaviour but which may not be immediately obvious.
